Hal Lipset "Truth in Action" Award
The Hal Lipset "Truth in Action" Award Award is The World Association of Detectives' highest honor and is presented at the Annual Conference. The recipients are W.A.D.'s members who have contributed an exceptional amount of their time, energy and effort to the betterment of the investigative or security professions.

2007 Hal Lipset "Truth in Action" Award Recipient
Horst Oertle - Police Officer, Zurich, Switzerland
Mr. Oertle served between 1989 and 1991 as a Papal Swiss Guard under Pope John Paul II. He is a board member of the association of former Papal Swiss Guards and editor of the magazine “Der Schweizergardist”. He currently works as a detective in the narcotics-unit of the County Police of Zurich. He lives with his wife and two children just outside the city of Zürich.
